In Lewes

Today we decided to take a trip out to Lewes to check out the sights and especially Darcy Clothing. 😁 After a somewhat nerve-wracking search for parking, we finally found some and proceeded into town on foot. It was a short, hilly walk and a bit of a work-out but it’s all good. Here’s a couple of views from our walk into town:

And finally, we reached Darcy Clothing, or at least their retail outlet:

Darcy’s main office/warehouse is up the hill, behind the castle…and here we are after shopping:

Afterwards, we decided to check out Lewes Castle, which was originally built just after the Norman conquest:

It was a bit of a climb up…

And we finally made it to the base of the castle itself…

But that’s just the base, there’s more!

After climbing three sets of these incredibly narrow stairs, we made it to the top of the keep and were rewarded with some amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

All that walking around gave us quite the appetite so afterwards, we repaired to The Rights of Man for some lunch: 😁

It was a great day and we got to see a part of the UK we’ve never seen before. Stay tuned for more! 😁
