In Development- Mantles!

The weather is cooling off and that means mantles, vistes, and dolmans! Here’s one mantle style that’s currently in development. This particular style features large wing sleeves and is styled to amply cover any dress. Stay tuned for more!

The front will feature wide lapels.

The sleeves are actually attached as part of the side seams and when the arms are outstretched, they actually create wings.

Corsetry…

Boning corsets today, it’s harder than it sounds because: 1. I prefer the casings to be tight and precise; and 2. this corset model has extreme curves!

It’s All About Structure

One of the basic building blocks of any period style is “Structure”…which is what each of these images represent. Our gowns are made to be worn with a proper understructure, and I take it upon myself to make sure that those structures are beautiful. Oh, and by the way, I prefer wearing my corset to modern lingerie any day!

It’s All About The Ruffles & Pleats

One of our signature Lily Absinthe details that I love to use is the layering of soft ruffles and pleats for dress finishing. It’s not only aesthetically pleasing, it’s authentic and practical!

The Josephine…

Most of our Lily Absinthe Bridal designs tend to be ethereal and soft…this is our “Josephine”, a soft blue corset with an even softer sheer skirt, embroidered with lace and flower petals, worn over a pretty pale blue soft petticoat with oodles of ruffles. Her chapeau is designed and made by the talented Shurie Southcott of Lady Bird’s Hatberdashery. ♡
