Silk satin coutil corset with spoon busk and antique lace…wishing I didn’t have to cover it up! Getting ready for a tea at an 1898 Swedish country house today.
Corset
Corsetry Redux…
More Corsetry…
Pretty blush Lily Absinthe corset en vogue for 1900, from extant coutil, Calais lace, and antique ribbons from Elizabeth Emerson Designs…be still, my heart! 🙂
Channeling Your Inner Gibson Girl…
And We’re Done…(Almost)
She needs some strategic padding, but patiently awaits her flossing with the special silk floss from Elizabeth Emerson Designs. That silk satin is stunning, but unforgiving because mistakes mean panel replacing, as stitching leaves marks… don’t ask me how I know 😎 Translating old patterns in French helped me draft a special shape, that last bit of 1890s before the Straight Front became fashionable.
Now, to take a break and take Angus for a walk!
