Corsets I can understand…but intentionally shelfing your rear view is well, insane.
And yet…we wear them and think they’re awesome. Check out that side view! In 1885, that was tres chic.

A Little Corsetry
WWat’s a corset without the softness of a petticoat? I love the contrast of lacy layers spilling from a tightened waist, don’t you?
The Secret Underneath
Whew! I may be covered in Old West dust, but I just made it in for #historicalsundayundies ! This is what was under my brown suit I wore to town today…and now you know my secret. 😁
At The Atelier
Enjoying the last day of quiet…because my laptop finally died and the new one arrives later today. Glad I printed out what I immediately needed before that happened, so let’s think good thoughts for a smooth transition and please be patient if I’m slow to answer ❤️
New Corsetry
Settling into a new pattern shape here in the work studio…the fashion geometry changes so much every few years! This feels different from my “usual” 1880s style, but somehow I have better posture. Late Victorian, not quite Edwardian…definitely: “transitional”.
