At Work In The Atelier…

Setting up is half the fun and most of the work! Now to pad the mannequin for an extant gown that I am patterning… 🙂

And For Some Dress Detail…

Someone is peeking out in a detail from the hem of our Maison Felix ballgown! This gown has only one beaded eye, the opposite side has just a flower in the same scale. It’s a curious touch that I had to lay on the floor to take this shot.

Maison Felix Is In The House!

Maison Felix is in the house! Capturing details from this special 1898 duchess silk lady with Persian motif beading before I lift a pattern from her. How many waltzes, champagne, and stolen kisses has she seen? Our goal is to reproduce this gown from the lining to the fashion fabric!

And Another Project Begins…

Carefully wrapped in acid free tissue and a hard case, our 1890s Felix ballgown is being taken to match up bead sizes and silk matched. Very special cargo, with an upcoming blog post tonight.
