This was originally a weekend project of antique bits, then I decided to get all fan-cy. 🙂
Soon. I hope.
“Lace” is the theme for #VictorianFebruary…restoring and using antique lace is one of my favorite things. Lace has the ability to transform or overwhelm, it has to be carefully used as part of the gown’s design and not an afterthought. I’d wear lace every day if I could, wouldn’t you? 🙂
Antique Tambour net embroidery and cotton lawn are deceivingly weightless, I had to sit on the floor to hand stitch things in place.
Days of lace insertion are finally paying off, it’s funny how complicated a simple cotton frock can be. 😉
Measure twice, pin, then cut…I get only one chance to get it right when working with antique lace! No Fear. 🙂
