Taking a Break…
Sharing some images from a wedding bodice that I’m taking a quick break to look at…this one is a real beauty, all the bust and armscye padding is still there. Back to work.
Anatomy of a Dress…
LÂ Last year I made a blue and white summer dress from a pattern I took from this bodice…maybe it’s time to draft another one. This dress is a rebel! It breaks so many “rules”. It’s in fantastic condition for it’s age and it enjoys a happy life here in my collection. It’s a semi-princess bodice, fully structured foundation skirt, and a detachable train.
What’s On… A Circa 1890s Walking Suit!
Just a sneak peak at our latest project- a walking suit based on an 1898 pattern originally published in the May 20, 1898 issue of “La Mode Illustree”. For our Aesthete and Modiste Patrons, we’ll be a pattern tracing of my drape which is a 43″ bust, 35″ waist which can be modified to your size. There is NO retail pattern of this in existence outside of the Atelier! Stay tuned for more!
