And Sew It Begins…

Our Juki D555 At The Atelier

After 21 years of non-use, the Juki is once again ready for use! This machine survived the 1994 Northridge earthquake when it was thrown onto the floor by the force of the quake and the machine oil poured out, barely missing Karin’s wedding dress. We never got around to getting it fixed and for the next 21 years it followed us in several moves and more or less acted as a repository for all sorts of junk.

Well, after looking at it sitting there all forlorn and neglected, we decided that we needed to get it back into service and especially for handling some of our more heavy projects. So, it’s going to be my home for the future as I get up to speed learning its ins and out (and all of its various quirks).

Yes, 2016 is going to be a productive year! 🙂
